Report Illegal Content

Use this procedure to notify D.O.M. about content you believe is illegal.

Effective date
July 16, 2026
Last updated
July 17, 2026

Purpose

This page provides an electronic notice procedure for content, conduct, profiles, messages, files or activities believed to be illegal.

Information to provide

A notice should include:

  • the exact URL, identifier or location of the material
  • a clear explanation of why it is believed to be illegal
  • the relevant country or law, if known
  • supporting facts or evidence
  • the action requested
  • contact information, unless anonymous reporting is permitted
  • a good-faith confirmation that the information is accurate and complete

Anonymous reports

Anonymous reporting is available for child safety, exploitation, trafficking and immediate threats. Other legal notices normally require a contact email so D.O.M. can confirm receipt or request information.

Urgent danger

The urgent option is for immediate danger to life, children or vulnerable persons. It is not a substitute for emergency services.

Processing

Each accepted submission receives a case number and is stored in the D.O.M. case system.

D.O.M. may preserve the material, request more information, restrict access during review, remove content, reject the notice, notify affected users where appropriate or take another action required by law.

Submitting a notice does not guarantee removal. D.O.M. evaluates the notice, available evidence, context and applicable law.

False notices

Knowingly false, abusive or misleading notices may lead to restrictions and legal responsibility.
